What I do
I research the changing nature of work and organizing: those transformations brought about by the push toward a future increasingly oriented around technology (e.g., AI), innovation, and entrepreneurship.
What I care about
I have been thinking a lot about what have we been defining as valuable enough to take with us into the future as opposed to leave behind, particularly in the shadow of developments like the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). Pursuant to these interests, I have been working on a project lately where I have been considering music composers who were developing an generative AI technology that threatened to cannibalize their own occupational community.
How I connect to the D^3 Mission
D^3 has been helping leaders of tomorrow's organizations to consider what kind of world we want to build through our technologies. It is my hope that my work can help us to consider an increasingly important dimension of this possible world: the forms of inequality that we might generate through the technologies we develop, specifically as related to what about our existing worlds we recognize as valuable as opposed to not.
