I assumed Fujifilm was on its way to being an obsolete company due to camera phones. It is interesting o see how they have diversified into the health space.

This is a great application of the technology. Does the placement of the RFIDs impact the type of data collected? With football being such a high impact sport, how do they ensure the RFIDs stay on during the game?

Great article Taka. I am really fascinated with the fact that Go-Jek was able to influence the government into allowing it to continue operating. Kenya also faces the same concerns with traffic and motorcycles have become the fastest mode of public transportation. I wonder whether this would work there.

On November 19, 2016, Diana commented on A Smarter P&G :

Great article. I am a little skeptical about digitizing the products P&G has. Does the consumer perceive additional value that would translate into increased prices of these goods. I worry that they maybe spending too much money in R&D without enough research as to whether the consumer is willing to pay more.

I hadn’t realized the additional benefits Disney gains through consumer insights. With regard to your question about using this tech in other business units, I wonder whether they could use it as a loyalty program at disney stores. They can make it like a fitbit where the more you buy at a disney store, the more points you get on the wrist watch.

Great article Andy!

Apart from what everyone said above, I love how you bring a topic like the impact of climate change to a topic like sports which tends to be universal. I think this is a great way to reach many people especially in America who still consider global warming a myth. The more we show that it will impact everything the more serious people will be and hopefully we can start having the conversation on how to change our behaviors as consumers.

Very interesting article. Apart from sourcing, what is Klabin doing to influence it’s downstream chain as well as consumers to be more sustainable. Can it push for more creative ways of packaging that requires less paper use. Can Klabin come up with new innovative materials that are sustainable? As they hire more talented people maybe this is a lever they can pull.

Great post. It is difficult for them to have a huge impact because they are a small player. I wonder whether they could partner with some marine biologists or bring this to the tourism division in the government. They need a bigger voice than themselves to be able to do anything meaningful or to get people to pay attention.

On November 7, 2016, Diana commented on Watery Times for Lend Lease :

Great article. I echo the comment above. I have never thought of the impact rising sea levels could have on real estate developers or companies such as Land Lease. Apart from the immediate measures mentioned here I wonder whether there are more solutions with permanent fixes and how much of that is in a company like lend lease’s control. How can they position themselves to have more of a say in climate change discussions that positively impact them. Should land and real estate developers get a seat at the table when discussing sustainability?

I like your comment on the fact that Unilever can begin to affect consumer behavior to be more sustainable-thinking. I wonder how that will impact their brands and sales if they start using things like recycled cartons for their packaging. Are consumers ready for that change and how can Unilever convince them to make the change without impacting their revenues?
