Hopin instructions

This year, we’re using Hopin to bring the event to your home virtually.

What is Hopin?
Hopin is an online events platform for engaging virtual events that connect people around the globe.

What are the major features of Hopin?
The Hopin platform is composed of:

  • Stage — where you can access the live event stream directly from Hopin
  • People — where you can meet new people

How do I submit a question for the speakers?
In the stage area of Hopin, click on the “Stage” tab on the right and “Q&A” under it.

What is Speed Networking and how does it work?
Speed Networking in the People area is the place for automated one-on-one meetings and is Hopin’s way of facilitating connection discovery at an event. In the speed networking segment, when someone clicks the Ready button, the system searches for someone else who has also clicked the Ready button. If someone else is available, the two are matched instantly and the video chat begins and lasts for a preset amount of time.

How do I network with specific people?
The Speed Networking area is random so you are not able to pick who you match with at this time. You can utilize the 1:1 meetings by going to the ‘People’ tab of the event, finding the person you would like to connect with, and clicking the invite to video call button.
