Summit: Inventing the Future of Money

Inventing the future of money logo 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

While information around crypto can be… cryptic, most experts agree: digital currencies and the underlying blockchain technology are here to stay.

Join us for a one-hour virtual event to unpack where money is moving and where the opportunity lies — and for who. We’ll look at what this new world means economically and especially technologically. And as a case study, we’ll explore the opportunities and hurdles of a US-backed digital currency.

Topics we’ll cover:

  • The future of money
  • Digital currency in the US
  • The impact of digital currency on individuals
  • The impact of digital currency on organizations
  • The benefits and problems for different people

We are excited to bring in the perspectives of Vasant Prabhu, the CFO of Visa and Sheila Warren, the CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation. HBS professor Scott Kominers will moderate a conversation on what the future of money looks like from Vasant and Sheila’s vantage points, focusing in on leveraging technology and the role of digital currency in that future.

Community engagement is an important element of the event. There will be live Q&A as part of the conversation and 1:1 networking following (also through the event platform, Hopin!) for anyone who’d like to stay on for 30 minutes to hear some more perspectives.
