Very interesting read! I never thought open innovation could apply to an airline. At the end of the day, I don’t believe open innovation will be a long-term competitive advantage for SIA as competitors copy the idea.

Very interesting post on one of my favorite companies! I love what 3D printing will do for sneaker customization, and I believe consumers will too. It will be interesting to see if Nike or Adidas will master this manufacturing first.

Very cool post! I love adidas, and I’m very excited about the new design possibilities 3-D printing will bring. I think what will truly propel this idea are aesthetics and cost. The shoes appear unlike anything else people are wearing. From a cost standpoint, companies such as Adidas may be able to cut China out from producing our goods.

I enjoyed this post! One concern I have is security concerns around NASA’s work. Security will definitely play a major role around what NASA is allowed to crowdsource. For this reason, I believe they have to continue complementing their standard R&D process with open innovation.

Great post, Jeannie! I absolutely think other streaming services, such as Apple Music, will catch up to Spotify. Currently, Spotify has more users, but Apple is adding new users faster [1]. As the tech advances, I believe Apple will be just as effective at recommending music.

Very interesting write-up on how Lemonade is using machine learning to fix a broken system. The entire insurance industry consistently frustrates its consumers. The biggest concern I have is the quality of data. Data is the new oil. Lemonade needs to ensure it has a well-structured and actionable strategy with regards to both internal and external data.
