Anesthetists & Surgeons: Interventions for a complex relationship

Supporting the Anesthetist & Surgeon relationship

Anesthetists and surgeons are complementary specialties that must work jointly to manage patients.  In addition to this, these specialists are highly interdependent financially. In such a closely connected relationship, the potential for conflict is high and can be detrimental to patients, the operating room team and to the physicians themselves in terms of workplace stress.  We are interested in understanding if anyone has taken interventions to manage or prevent this type of conflict at a corporate level (eg not individuals).
