Great post Merry! It’s been amazing to see how SpaceX has been able to compete with legacy competitors that included a JV between Boeing and Lockheed-Martin. It seems to be a great example of how a tightly aligned business and operational model can disrupt a very mature industry with huge barriers to entry. It will be interesting to see if the recent set backs from failed launches earlier this year were just bumps in the road or the beginning of huge challenges for the company, though.

Very interesting post Anna! While much of this year has been focused on examples of bold managers who made big risks in order realize huge rewards, it’s a sobering counterpoint to see how this company has succeeded by being aggressively conservative.

Very interesting post. The turn-around of Microsoft’s operational model and attempts to reinvigorate the culture seem to have been very successful in the past few years. I wonder, though, if they will be able to turn this new focus into marketable new and ‘engaging’ products that can augment their core business.
