CEO who joined the center 2 years ago from a UK healthcare system. Significant changes and replacements to the senior leaders across the organization. All corporate surveys and observations indicated the following: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lots of talk about values but not enough action<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A lack of employee engagement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interpersonal conflicts and what\u2019s in it for me rather than the organization interest first.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lack of psychological safety: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">employees do not trust<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">feel safe enough to speak out about significant problems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Performance issues, mediocracy is the norm and a high level of absenteeism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lack of accountability and transparency is just a word widely used.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Staff are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">blamed for mistakes based who they are or know.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Senior management justifies the above as industry norm for a newly established medical center and it will get improved with time. The average time of service for senior leader in the organization is 3 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What will you do to heal this culture;<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you join as CEO? <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you join as Chief &#8211; Medical Officer, Operating Officer, Audit Executive, Human Resources, Legal Counsel?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you join as a board member?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t just respond with I wont join \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>XYZ medical center, 400 beds, 5 thousands employees from more than 90 countries\/ nationalities.
