Food waste in the US costs $161 billion dollars annually. This is a proposed secondary seller market for the procurement of short-coded produce at discounted prices with the objective of reducing food wastage in US.
The Best Secondary Seller of Produce
Good luck Itauma and Sunil.
Thank you, Yolande! š
Great Idea. I wish Restuarnts and Grocery stores donated waste to food banks without charges. Hate to see Food waste.
Thanks, Suresh! That’s an opportunity right there. Our mission is “no food left to waste”. š
Nice Idea! With all the restaurants and cafes closed due to lock-downs, it would be great to shift that Food waste ratio (supply/demand) and redirect food that would end up as compost (wherever the final point) into the hands of communities in need.
Great idea and pitch Itauma and Sunil !
I was in a book club that was centered on food and sustainability and we read a book in which you might be interested! https://books.google.com/books/about/Waste.html?id=UG–VD9XpOcC The author also has a TED Talk. Finally, there is a Planet Money episode on how food banks trade food that might interest you. https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2019/09/11/565736836/episode-665-the-free-food-market Good luck, and have fun!
I love this idea. I hate wasting food when there are so many people we can feed. Thank you for your great idea!
