The Secret is “There are No Secrets”

secret-theres-no-secret

Presented at the Digital Initiative 2017 Future Assembly, in this flash talk, Professor James Mickens of the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering outlines how the technologies we rely on for security may not be as protected as me might think. With utter wit and conciseness, Mickens conveys how political rifts, poor documentation, and systems easily compromised by state-level actors are insidiously jeopardizing us all. Why do we care? Because in a world where we can hardly keep up the pace of technological innovation and implementation, we had best know how the protocols we rely on for securing systems really work.
